Training program

The goal of APUGA training program is to teach competent obstetrician-gynecologists to become experts in the management of pelvic organ prolapse and female urinary incontinence. All of the APUGA Training Centers are set up by the Training Committee of APUGA with standard criterion. APUGA international fellowship a flexible course and meets different needs of the international fellows. We also offer the hands-on part for our fellows, but it will only be available for long-term fellowship (more than a year).


Clinical training and Diagnostic Training

Clinical training consists of an intensive experience in the clinical care of patients with incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction. Ample surgical experience will be obtained in repairs of urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginoplasties and female genital tract fistulas. Fellows will be trained in vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Diagnostic training includes cystoscopy and urodynamics. Clinical conferences, seminars, journal club and one-on-one instruction are important parts of the Urogynecology Fellowship Program. Fellows will also be expected to be involved in the teaching of residents and medical students.


Research training

The fellow's opportunities in clinical and basic research are excellent. The fellow will be encouraged to pursue a number of research projects and publish at least one research paper during each year.
